Brian Dang

Building Designer

Brian hails from Vietnam, where he completed both a Bachelor and Master degree, majoring in Architecture.

In 2016, he relocated to Australia to pursue a Master of Architecture at Monash University.

Background

Brian has over four years of work experience as a draftsperson and architectural graduate specialising in residential design. He describes himself as a hard-working introvert, who is always striving to learn and improve.

He brings an impressive technical skill set to the team, including Autodesk Revit, Lumion, Autodesk AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Autodesk 3ds MAx.

He’s got excellent self-management skills and is a responsible team member with excellent construction knowledge.

Prior to joining EDG Projects Australia, he worked as an Architect and Urban Planner in Vietnam, where he was responsible for drafting and designing residential homes.

Before this, he worked as a draftsperson in St. Albans, drafting and designing new homes. He also has practical draftsperson experience, designing and drafting town planning and working drawings for new residential dwellings.

Interesting Design Projects

Since joining the team Brian has enjoyed working across a range of interesting design projects, giving him first-hand experience in designing for both high-end residential living spaces and multi-purpose commercial projects.

His first significant project was the Dharnya Center, where he gained invaluable knowledge for future commercial projects.

Experience Working at EDG

Since working with with Alastair and the team, Brian says he’s been lucky to work on lots of various projects. His favourite experience has been the opportunities he’s had to work on large-scale commercial projects throughout Victoria.

“I feel like these experiences have really helped to broaden and improve my own design knowledge, which I can share with the team, and use for future projects to support our clients”, he says.

Advice for Pursuing a Career in Building Design

Brian believes the key to a successful career in building design and architecture is patience. And to keep learning from small things.

“What you learn from the smallest design principles can be applied to help you become a more successful building designer”, he says.

If Brian wasn’t working in design and architecture, he says he’d be an IT engineer, because he loves working with computers and software, especially architectural software like Revit.
