Background and Experience

Jo has always been interested in the building and construction industry. With a background in various industries spanning from advertising, facilities management and recruitment, joining us was an excellent opportunity to leverage her experience to drive the business trajectory.

Her transition into the construction realm has been seamless, thanks to her adaptability and enthusiasm for learning.

Passion and Focus

Jo’s initial focus is ensuring EDG has the right people in the right seats at the right time for business growth. She knows the success of a business lies in its people, and she's committed to ensuring that we’ve got the best team in place to drive success.

Jo's passion for her work is evident in her approach to her role as our General Manager.

"I love to work with people and deliver operational excellence. Driving a healthy culture, smashing business goals and having a positive impact on the team is what makes me love my job," she shares.

Her commitment to fostering a positive work environment and achieving operational success drives her every day.

Her Work Philosophy

An outgoing and enthusiastic team member, Jo loves the sense of achievement of delivering results - not just for herself but for the whole team.

In a previous role, her colleagues awarded her a special 4-wheel drive award, recognising her determination and ability to tackle any challenge head-on. Jo prides herself on being an inclusive leader who achieves business results by collaborating effectively with her team, suppliers, and clients.

If Jo wasn’t working in business operations, she’d be working in the army! This choice highlights her disciplined nature and her ability to thrive in structured environments, traits that undoubtedly contribute to her success at EDG.

Influences and Inspirations

A significant figure in her professional journey has been her business coach over the past two years, who helped her identify an effective way of working and managing people, utilising emotional intelligence, which has changed the way she works.

Additionally, she credits her parents for instilling in her a strong work ethic and resilience, qualities that have been instrumental in her career progression.

Life Outside EDG

Outside of work, Jo is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys staying active.

"I love the outdoors and staying active, whether that’s heading to a gym session, getting out on the netball court, hiking in the country, or playing a spot of tennis when the weather allows it," she says.
