Liza Karabulut

Liza Karabulut brings over 10 years of experience in the building design industry, specialising in creating custom family homes and multi-townhouse developments throughout Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. 

Background and Experience

Liza’s journey in design began with a passion for crafting beautiful, functional spaces that cater to each client's unique needs. Her meticulous attention to detail and design expertise make her a key contributor to the team.

With qualifications from Swinburne University of Technology, including an Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural) and a Diploma of Landscape Design, Liza combines technical knowledge with a strong sense of visual aesthetics. Her skills span 2D and 3D visualisation through Revit, client presentations, and experience producing town planning and working drawings and documentation. She also has a strong knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards and their implementation across different types of projects.

Favourite Projects

Among Liza's many career highlights is a project involving a unique home with a cantilevered first floor. With full creative freedom from the client, she embraced the opportunity to push the boundaries of design, creating an innovative and distinctive space that the client loved.

Liza thrives in collaborative environments, often drawing inspiration from her fellow designers, which has been instrumental in shaping her approach to innovative and practical design solutions.

Liza is passionate about people, individuality, and the art of design. She believes every project is an opportunity to create something that truly reflects the client’s vision while leaving her own creative mark. For Liza, it's about finding the perfect balance between beauty and practicality in each project.

Life Outside EDG

Outside of her work in building design, Liza has a deep love for travel and exploring new cultures, which she says helps her bring a fresh perspective to her design work. She also has a keen interest in the outdoors and history, and in another life, she might have pursued a career in museum curation, blending her love of travel, people, and history.
